How Often Should I Service My Hyundai?

For optimal performance and car function, routine maintenance is a must for any vehicle. While it is always important to refer to your vehicle’s owner manual for specific information on your vehicle’s maintenance schedule, below you can find a basic guide for a general idea of when to Schedule a Service Appointment. Please keep in mind, the recommended mileage and time may vary depending on your vehicle’s year and model, and routine oil changes should be done every 4,000 to 5,000 Km.

20,000 Km Service

The first major service for your vehicle should begin at the 20,000 km mark. This service will consist of basic maintenance such as rotating tires, inspecting key elements for unusual wear and tear, and replacing any applicable filters.

  • Oil Change – Drain and replace
  • Check All Fluid Levels – Top-up if necessary
  • Tires Rotated and Balanced – Inspect for any wear and tear, bulges, and punctures
  • Check Air Filter – Replace if necessary

40,000 Km Service

The 40,000 km service mark is similar to the 20,000 km service with the addition of checking the fuel filter and transmission fluid. By this point, the fuel filter will probably need to be replaced but depending on your driving habits, the transmission fluid may not be. We may also recommend changing the spark plugs depending on the year and model of your vehicle.

  • Services included at the 20,000 Km interval
  • Check Brake Pads – Replace if necessary
  • Suspension and Shock Check
  • Check Fuel Filter – Replace if necessary
  • Check Transmission Fluid – Replace if necessary

80,000 Km Service

Typically the 80,000 km mark will occur when you’re vehicle has been on the road for 4 to 5 years. By this point, your car has had some serious wear and tear and as such, this service will be much more comprehensive than the other 2 service recommendations. Genuine parts will likely most be needed and could include the battery and brake pads. At 80,000 km the brake and transmission fluid will also need to be checked, and the brake rotors may need to be replaced.

  • Services included at the 40,000 Km interval
  • Replace Battery
  • Inspect Brake Rotors – replace if necessary
  • Check for Wear on Belts and Hoses – replace if necessary
  • Complete vehicle inspection – including vehicle safety technology features
